BIOGRAPHY

My name is Juana M.Fernández-Hamer. I was born in Cuba in 1966. I left with my nuclear family members from Cuba ( still have members that live there) and lived in Spain,  Miami, NY and finally settled in northern NJ. I graduated from Memorial High School in West New York, NJ and ran track and field on a scholarship at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, where I met my husband. I have two sons and I have been married since 1995. I have been teaching since 2001 and I hold two masters degrees in Education.

 

Making art makes me feel like God poured something very special into me  that not many other people have. I feel the spirit of God in me when I paint. I like to create visually stimulating works  that make people feel something special.
